Meeting and greeting another person on the road is one of the most human things any of us can do. Happy to see these beautiful images of your time in Italy!
Your observation of village connectivity reminds me of the glue some places are losing, but it’s not lost. We tighten the web with our individual weave.
A while ago I set a code for my social behavior, targeting strangers in particular.
I greet folks with eye contact, a smile, a nod to acknowledging their space alongside mine. With this brief exchange, my task is performed. I expect nothing in return.
I have hermit tendencies, but I love those unexpected moments of connection waiting for the ‘walk’ sign to change, or searching an aisle at the grocery store, that lack further requirement. Even just eye contact and a quick smile affirm a connection to the rest of humanity.

The most human indeed.
Loving your messages and pictures, Jen!
Italy is very photogenic. I see why painting tours are common.
Jen, thanks for inspiring us during our time in Italy. È stata un esperienza indimenticabile! Non vedo l'ora la prossima!
Charles, grazie per averlo reso possibile!!

Jim, love this - your code and ways of life are always inspiring. You are a paragon of compassion.

Yes, so beautiful how we can quickly remember our connectivity.
Italy looks amazing! Enjoy!
